Tiny Telephone Cables. �I didnapos;t know what they were until I got an internship at a recording studio. �When I�asked, apos;what are these little quarter inch inserts on the patch bay?apos; and heard apos;tiny telephone cables,apos; I didnapos;t connect the obvious cables hanging on the hook next to the patcher to the phrase. �No, the black, sleek cables, short and delicate things, were far from my mind. �Instead this image was created of something...organic, something from the depths of the earth. �Something that might come out when itapos;s a nice, warm day, after a spring rain or a blue sunrise. �For some reason, tiny telephone cables evoke some sort of warmth in me, some creature sense that I canapos;t describe without ruining it.

some of these phrases lose something by eliminating the inflection or context, but they all mean something to me. �The last one was spoken on a stage by a soft, delicate Indian woman dressed in a soft pink sari that made me regret being born into a society in which it is not normal to wear such a beautiful article of clothing. �Her cadence and vocal timbre reminded me of vocal tracks that are layered with husky breath sounds, but it was just one small woman in front of a microphone. �She was recounting the story of an Indian woman who fell in love with Vishnu and how the passing of the seasons mirrored the passage and stages of her love for him. �The way her voice took its time, lingered just the right amount of time on the perfect syllables and trailed off at the end...it was musical. �It was really life-changing, if only for a moment.

The dance that followed was geometrically intriguing, and it highlighted the strength of her limbs. �They collapsed and expanded on themselves, like an accordion being massaged. �She stepped with delicate little steps, her legs still bent, arms held out as if balancing trays or tender glasses, bent at the elbow with hands parallel to the floor. �Even her fingers, long and slender, were bent so straight that they curved backwards at the tips, fanned out like a plume.

The dance was dignified and humble, and I donapos;t think I see these traits in people, especially myself, very often.
I hope that I�will never forget some of the things that cause such a momentary sense of awe.

So the newest WoW patch that came out has all the preliminary items, changes, spells and professions that will be focused in Lich King, huzzah And coming with the upgrade comes with many, many problems. I have my 4 main characters spread through 2 different servers. Both of them have the status of apos;Fullapos; and I try to play them regularly. 2 of them are on Moon Guard, Torrg, my Orc Shaman and Kordnand my Blood Elf Priest. Both of them are level 70 and I consider both my apos;Mainapos; since they are my first and highest leveled characters.

Moon Guard has been extremely horrible for Queue times lately. I log in and have to wait over half an hour for the 400+ people in the queue to clear out so I can play on it. Performance is peak there I can actually go without lag for the duration of my play. This I am happy about.

Aerie Peak which is home to my Dwarf and my Blood Elf Paladin has turned from good to crap. The response constantly freezes when I am fighting something, sometimes it hiccups and allows a couple of hits and spells to cross between me and whatever Iapos;m fighting, sometimes it works I kill them, they hang in the air for like 2 minutes before it falls down. Last night was the worst where it swapped, something would be killing me, Iapos;d set up to heal then suddenly everything would freeze. Iapos;d see my health bar drop to below 0 and the enemy reset. It totally SKIPS my Spirit of Redemption and I fall over dead.

Ironically I prefer that over the slow access times at Moon Guard. I checked the WoW webpage to see if I could do a free character move, which I have 2 characters eligible... Both of my Aerie Peak toons *flop* Iapos;d like to be able to move my Moon Guardians over to another server. And on top of that it ONLY is letting me move them to a Latin American server? Whaaaa??? NOOOOOOOO

Theres this teacher at school thatapos;s realised iapos;m upset all the time, and asked me what was wrong, and i hadnapos;t spoke to anyone in such a long time that i ended up crying into his arms for like an hour.

he told me he knew i was getting thinner, and started asked me questions and i was so upset that i just told him. If it were anyone else i would have told them to fuck off, but because it was him, i canapos;t help but be nice to him. I think i fancy him a bit too. But now he has to tell the child protection people and itapos;s stupid.

I say weapos;ve had a pretty productive three months since I last sent out that list of things coming up. The last one on that list is quickly approaching and I figure Iapos;d set out our planning for the future as well.

As such, here it is:

October 27th - Halloweapos;en meet.

November 10th - Euro-feast. Partly to sample some of what our forebearers in WWI and WWII saved and partly because it would be an interesting challenge, we will have a potluck of European foods, so pick a food from anywhere in Europe and even the old USSR and let us sample it.

November 24th - No meet. Madius myself will be just coming back from MFF that monday. If someone else wants to host something, go for it :D.

December 8th - Cookie Chew-off. For this night, cook your cookies and letapos;s have a cookie party :D

December 15th - Secret Santa. Because the following two weeks, some people go on vacation, this will probably be the last full meet before Christmas.

December 22nd 29th - Relax-o-meets. If your around, come on by but we expect a lot of people might be away on vacation.

Found during web surfing while flipping my day/night schedule is always fun... Seems like I just did a weekend, yet here it is again....

Never did find my phone charger, had Karina pick me up one in route home tonight, just in time I was down to 1/2 a bar of power... "smart phones" use a LOT of juice.

Working on uploading recipes to my tastebook.... And I did email them suggesting more artsy covers so artists could create art formula recipe books, or natural cosmetic books, or herbal cure books, etc... I got 3 emails from different people that appear to be in charge, all praising the idea. I hope a check or free books come with them liking the idea...

Well, we didnapos;t get to have our GIS�meeting today because Wendy wasnapos;t able to (sheapos;s not doing very much GIS�work these days anyway, she says). But Paul and I or Paul and I and Connie (the IT�guru) are going to meet sometime next week, probably Tuesday or Wednesday to plan. When Paul and I had our meeting we pretty much covered what he wanted to talk about, but Iapos;m not sure if heapos;s planning on doing any reassigning of projects or what. We are supposed to be getting two new biologists - one probably at the end of November and the other probably by the end of the year, so that should lighten the workload of some of the staff.

Anyway, Wendy showed me today how to add stuff to the Dataviewer and it is amazingly simple, so Iapos;ll be doing some work with that. I added the documented spawning sites for the Gulf sturgeon that I had created and also deleted some stuff that wasnapos;t really useful like old tiger road files and old managed areas. I�also created a data archive folder on the X drive and moved all of that old data into it. Eventually it would be really nice to move to geodatabases. I wonder if weapos;ll do that while Iapos;m here. As far as the "list" of things to add, there really isnapos;t a physical list, but weapos;re going to work something out so that I know what needs to be added to the library and Dataviewer.

I got the chance to ask Wendy about a couple of questions I had for others, but her answers may help me solve some of my dilemmas. For the potential sturgeon spawning data Iapos;ve been having issues with the MS�rivers not having any site information, and apparently thereapos;s a good reason for that - this office didnapos;t collect those GPS�points. Basically, if itapos;s okay with everyone (Paul, Frank) I can exclude those rivers from the final shapefile because there isnapos;t enough data to make anything coherent about it. I�still need to ask Frank though if he wants more attribute information other than river and site number in the shapefile.�I also asked her about the conradina data for Vivian. Vivian wants to keep the shapefiles separate but thereapos;s really no reason for this that I can see for the rest of the staff. So Iapos;m going to keep the originals in that project folder that sheapos;s working out of, merge the 4 point layers together and then (hopefully) get enough metadata information so that we can have some and then move it into the panhandle folder and then to the Dataviewer. On�an amusing side�note, the guy we originally got this plant data from is one of the people coming to work here at the end of the year. So I could just ask him in person. :)

I spoke with Sandy briefly about the candidate mussel ranges and she says this project is going to be ongoing because they are always going to be out in the field finding candidate mussels. The issue right now for the final range maps is that they donapos;t know whether or not theyapos;ll have the funding to list the species (Iapos;m not sure why money is a factor, but thatapos;s what she said) until after the presidential election. So basically Iapos;m just going to be adding data as she gives it to me. She sent me a table with a few new points to add, so Iapos;ll do that tomorrow.

Oh, and I spent the morning and some of the afternoon completing seven CBRA�determinations, but Melody isnapos;t in until Wednesday. Ah, well. At least theyapos;re out of the way.

Anyway, thatapos;s�my day. Kind of bored now and I still have 25 minutes to go.
